The ‘Celebrating Differences’ resource supports teachers and children to explore the themes of good talking and listening skills; self-identity; inclusion/ exclusion; similarities and differences in families; similarities and differences in the wider community; global diversity and respect for self and others.
It is designed for schools to deliver as a project in partnership with another school (utilising the “Buddy Up!” approach) but can also be delivered as a stand alone programme in a single school setting. It is ideally suited for pupils in Year 3 but can be adjusted to suit learning styles in Years 2 & 4. The resource, which is curriculum linked, is comprised of a Teacher Guide, session and activity plans and accompanying pupil workbook.
