About the event
Keen to continue important Shared Education programming?
Join CRIS as we share tips and tricks for virtual classroom collaboration through 'Buddy Up!' Online.
In this session we will be:
1) Exploring the Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2 'Buddy Up!' Online resources on identity, feelings & empathy
2) Sharing some tips and tricks for virtual classroom collaboration
'Buddy Up!' is an award-winning peacebuilding pupil programme that has emerged from nursery and primary schools across the past 20 years.
Recently, CRIS has developed an online version of the programme, designed to connect pupils and classrooms while their opportunity for in-person engagement may be limited.
'Buddy Up!' Online features songs, stories, activities & opportunities to 'Buddy Up!' with a partner school.
Currently, resources have been developed for Key Stage 1 & Key Stage 2 pupils. The programme is aligned with the Northern Ireland Personal Development & Mutual Understanding section of the curriculum.
School staff can use these resources to explore themes such as identity, community, culture, empathy and diversity with their classes.
This teacher training session will explore the available resources and platform some virtual tips & tricks for connecting pupils from their individual classrooms.
'Buddy Up!' Online has been an opportunity for pupils to build confidence with a partner class, learning more about themselves and others and offered teachers a platform for continued school partnership working across the past year.
Join us to find out more about the programme and how your class can benefit from 'Buddy Up!'.
